We Honor Our 2008 Senior Pirate Baseball Players

#2---- Senior Pirate Second Baseman and Catcher-----Dustin Hutchinson

Dustin is the son of Jayme Hutchinson, Jennifer Hutchinson, and Tracey Burdette.

He and his family are active members of Spring Branch Baptist Church in Baxley. Dustin has played Pirate baseball for four years as a second baseman and catcher. Throughout Dustin has been an active member of the Future Busines Leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Y-Club, Beta Club, and the Spanish Club. He was chosen " Sweetest" senior superlative by his senior class, has maintained high honor roll status throughout his four years of high school, and has been a goal card recipient. After graduating with honors, Dustin plans to attend Georgia Southern University and pursue a degree in engineering.

 

#3---- Senior Pirate Outfielder and Pitcher----Lucus Canady

  Lucus is the son of Wayne and Tammy Canady and Cindi Canady.

Lucus joined the Pirates athletic program this year after participating in spors in Tattnall County. Lucus has played Pirate baseball for one year as an outfielder and a pitcher. He was also an important part of the Pitate football team and helped lead the Pirate basketball team to their Region 2-AA Championship. While in Tattnall County Lucus recieved Most Improved Runner in cross-country, Most Valuable Player in football and baseball, and Highest Academic Average in basketball. During high school Lucus has also been active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Spanish Club, and Y-Club. Lucus has been a goal card recipient and was chosen "Mr. Pirate" by his peers at ACHS including the award of "Best Smile". After graduation, Lucus plans to attend college and pursue a degree in the medical field as an orthopedic surgeon.

 

#7---- Senior Pirate Outfielder, First and Third Baseman, and Pitcher----Jared Spell

  Jared is the son of Edwin and Windi Spell.

He and his family are active members of Asbury United Methodist Church of Baxley. During his four years as a Pirate baseball player, Jared has played as an outfielder, third and first baseman, shorstop, and pitcher. During high school he has been an active member of the Future Business Leaders of America, Future Farmers of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes,Y-Club, Spanish Club, and H.O.S.A. During his junior and senior years, Jared was selected to play with 5-Tool Baseball's fall college tour. After graduation Jared will attend ABAC where he plans to pursue a degree as a Nature Biologist with hopes of continuing his baseball career at the next level.

 

#8---- Senior Pirate First Baseman, Pitcher,and Designated Hitter----Tyler White

  Tyler is the son of Jimmy and Cheryl White.

He and his family are active members of the First Baptist Church of Baxley. During his first four years as a Pirate baseball player, Tyler has played as a first baseman, pitcher, and a designated hitter. During high school Tyler has been an active member of the Future Business Leaders of America. Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Y-Club. Tyler has played with 5-Tool Baseball as well as the South Georgia Raiders where he lead the team in homeruns and runs batted in. In the 2006 Cook County Tournament, Tyler plans to attend college and pursue a degree in Sports Medicine with hopes of continuing his baseball career at the next level.

 

#14---- Senior Pirate Outfielder--- Jordan Ball

  Jordan is the son of Anthony and Dianne Ball.

He and his family are active members of the First Baptist Church of Baxley. Jordan has played Pirate baseball for three years as an outfielder. During high school he has been active in the Y-Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Spanish Club. Jordan has also been an important part of the Pirate football program earning the MVP Special Teams award and being named All-Region Honorable Mention 2006 and 2nd team All-Region 2007. Jordan was chosen "Most Valuabl to School" senior superlative by his senior class. After graduating with honors, Jordan plans to pursue a degree in Sports Training and recieve an Orthopedic PA degree.

 

#22----Senior Pirate Second Baseman--- Daniel Evan Creamer

  Evan is the son of Danny and Stephanie Creamer of Baxley.

He is an active member of the Spring Branch Baptist Church of Baxley. Evan has played Pirate baseball for four years as a second baseman. Throughout high school he has been an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America, Beta Club, Spanish Club, Y-Club, and Skills-USA. Maintaining honor roll status, Evan has been a four year goal card recipient, was selected "Most Popular" senior superlative and prom king by his senior class, he was second runner up in the "Mr. Pirate" contest including the title of "Best Hair", and was named to the 2007 Region 2-AA 1st team as all-region utility infielder. After graduating with honors, Evan plans to pursue a degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech and hopes to continue his baseball career at the next level.

 

#23---- Senior Pirate Pitcher and outfielder--- Justin Crosby

   Justin is the son of Shane and Jan Crosby and Melanie and Craig Stanfield.

He is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Baxley. Justin has played Pirate baseball for three years as a pitcher and a right fielder. Throughout high school he has maintained honor roll status and has been an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Future Business Leaders of America. Justin was named "Most Handsome" senior superlative by his senior class. After graduation, Justin will be attending Young Harris College, where he has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball as a Mountain Lion. His plans are to pursue a degree in the medical field.
