came to Sheriff’s office to report Threats.
Complainant stated she
had been receiving threatening text messages from her
ex-husband and his wife.
02-09-12---Answered a
call to Mae Lane in reference to Damage to Property.
Complainant stated
unknown person (s) had placed sugar inside the gas tank
of his pickup truck.
02-10-12---Answered a
call to one vehicle deer accident on Hwy 121. No
injuries reported.
02-10-12---Answered a
call to Appling Middle School in reference to Damage to
Property. Principle stated a juvenile had stood on a
urinal in the boy’s bathroom
breaking the urinal and
damaging the wall. Estimate for repairs were given to
the Department of Juvenile Justice.
02-10-12---Answered a
call to Lennox Road in reference to a possible Attempted
Suicide. Subject was found lying on the floor with
slurred speech. Appling EMS transported subject to
Appling ER for treatment.
02-11-12---Answered a
call to Dunham Lane in reference to a Theft. Complainant
stated she was missing $50.00 from her purse. She
realized the money was missing after a visiting nurse
had left the residence. Investigation Continues.
02-11-12---Answered a
call to Ten Mile road in reference to a Burglary.
Complainant stated
unknown person (s) had kicked in the back door to gain
entry to her building and stole approximately $1,504.00
worth of items. Investigation Continues.
02-11-12---Answered a
call to Kennedy road in reference to Harassment.
Complainant stated a
juvenile came to her residence making threats towards
her.
02-11-12---Answered a
call to Rosewood Lane in reference to Harassment.
Complainant stated her
ex-boyfriend continues to ride by her house and calls
her on the phone.
02-12-12---Appling County
Sheriff’s Office assisted the Baxley Police Department
to a call on Simpson Drive. Subject was found on the
ground breathing but not responding. Subject was
transported to Appling ER and found to be intoxicated.
Subject was later
released.
02-13-12---Complainant
came to Sheriff’s Office in reference to Child Custody.
Complainant stated her
ex-husband would not return their child to her.
02-13-12---Answered a
call to Hoppy Trail in reference to an Attempted
Suicide.
Subject was found to have
taken several types of prescription drugs. Appling EMS
transported subject to Appling ER for treatment.
02-14-12---While officers
were checking listings at local Pawn Shop, convicted
felon was found to have pawned a firearm. A warrant was
secured for Julia Marie Paige age 30 for Possession of a
Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
02-14-12---Answered a
call on Alicia Street in reference to Littering.
Complainant stated that his neighbor’s trash was blowing
in his yard.
02-14-12---Answered a
call to Lennox road in reference to a Theft. Complainant
stated he believed his ex-girlfriend took his food stamp
card. Investigation continues.
02-14-12---Investigation
revealed information on an alleged child molestation of
an eighteen year old female that had sex with a fourteen
year old male. Child molestation misdemeanor charges
will be forthcoming.
02-15-12---Answered a
call on Ten Mile Road in reference to Harassment.
Complainant stated that a vehicle passed by her house.
The driver of the vehicle stuck their arm out of the
window and shot her a bird.
02-15-12---Answered a
call on Golden Isles West at Graham City Hall in
reference to a Civil Issue. Complainant stated that
someone had placed locks on the gas pumps without
permission.
02-15-12---Answered a
call to Oscar Tippins road in reference to a Burglary.
Complainant stated
unknown person (s) broke the front window to the
residence to gain entry. Only thing appeared to be
missing from the residence was a Valentine Gift.
Investigation Continues.
02-16-12---Answered a
call to Ga. 4 hwy. in reference to a one-vehicle deer
accident. No injuries were reported.
02-17-12---Answered a
call to Hwy. #121 south in reference to Damage to
Property. Complainant stated electrical wiring on two
light poles on grounds of Surrency High School had been
torn down and left laying on the ground.

Pleasant Grove Church road in reference to a Civil Matter.
Complainant and family member had a dispute over deceased
family member’s mobile home and shelter.
02-03-12---Answered a call to
Crosby Chapel Church road in reference to a Theft.
Complainant stated taken from
his property was scrap metal valued at approximately
$200.00. Investigation continues.
02-04-12---Answered a call to
Golden Isles West in reference to Threats.
Complainant stated his son
had made threats toward him. Son had left the residence
before the officer arrived.
02-04-12---Answered a call to
Thornton road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident.
No injuries were reported.
02-05-12---Answered a call to
Lynn road in reference to Reckless Driver. Driver subject
was located at a residence where a party was in progress.
Subject along with owner of the residence were written
citations. Owner of residence was written a citation for
contributing to a minor (alcohol), and driver was written a
citation for reckless driving.
02-05-12---Answered a call to
Kennedy road in reference to a Domestic Dispute.
Acquaintances had a dispute,
one of the subjects had left the residence before officers
arrived.

South Main Ext., Surrency in reference to a Domestic.
Husband and wife had a verbal dispute.
02-05-12---Answered a call to
Scott Drive in reference to Threats.
Complainant stated his wife
made threats towards his life and damaged the inside of the
residence.

Donnie Lewis Lane in reference to Sexual Harassment.
Complainant stated a subject approached her about sex, she
stated she was not interested. Subject has continued to
approach her. Complainant was advised to see the Magistrate
Judge if charges are to be filed.

A P Hunter road in reference to a Juvenile Problem.
Complainant stated her eight
year old child had been very unruly and she had disciplined
him. Appling DFACS and Juvenile Justice was notified.
02-06-12---A routine traffic
stop on Moody street resulted in the arrest of Chadwick Bell
age 34 of Vidalia, Ga. Bell was charged with Simple
Possession Marijuana.
02-06-12---Complainant came
to Sheriff’s Office to report Fraud Identity.
Complainant stated he filed
his income tax and the IRS reported back to him that someone
had already filed his taxes. Investigation Continues.
02-07-12---Answered a call to
Pat Lewis road in reference to a Theft.
Complainant stated unknown
subject had cut the lock to his work trailer and took
approximately 20 feet of copper ground cables and a rolling
ground dolly. Investigation led to the arrest of James
Timothy Carter age 40, of Alma, Georgia. Carter was charged
with Theft by Taking.
02-08-12---Answered a call to
Elizabeth circle in reference to an Unruly Juvenile.
Complainant stated her son
thirteen year old son got in trouble at school by having
drug related objects and continues to be unruly at home.
Complainant was advised to see the Juvenile Justice Officer.
02-08-12---Answered a call to
Dairy road in reference to a Domestic.
Complainant stated she and
her husband had a verbal dispute which led to and
altercation. Husband agreed to leave the residence for the
night. Wife was advised to see the Magistrate Judge if
charges are to be pressed.
02-09-12---Answered a call to
Tippins Street in reference to a Prowler. Complainant stated
she saw two subjects trying to break into her shed.
Investigation Continues.
02-09-12---Complainant came
to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft.
Complainant stated her
boyfriend had stolen a 380 pistol, diamond ring and diamond
necklace from her. Investigation continues.
02-09-12---Complainant came
to Sheriff’s Office to report Threats. Complainant stated
her ex-boyfriend had texted her stating he was in Tennessee
and on his way to kill her.

01-25-12---A routine traffic stop
on Brobston/Penniman Street resulted in the arrest of Rodney
Dewayne Hall age 26, of Hazlehurst, Georgia. Hall was charged
with two counts Obstruction of an Officer and Seatbelt
violation.
01-27-12---Appling County
Sheriff’s Office and the Fourth District Fire Department
responded to a vacant mobile home on John Herndon road,
Surrency.
Mobile home was completely
destroyed.
01-27-2012---Complainant came to
Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft that occurred in 2002.
Complainant stated she had learned that Child Support checks
that were mailed to her in 2002 had been received and cashed by
an unknown subject. Investigation Continues.
01-27-12---A routine traffic stop
on Luckie Street resulted in the arrest of Shari Lynn Sanford,
age 47 of Hazlehurst, Georgia. Sanford was charged with Driving
without License on Person, Possession of Marijuana, DUI/Drugs,
Drugs to be Kept in Original Container.
01-28-12---Answered a call to
Jekyll Road in reference to a one-vehicle accident.
No injuries were reported.
01-29-12---Answered a call to
East River road in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No
injuries were reported.
01-29-12---Answered a call to
Russell Road in reference to Damage to Property.
Complainant stated someone had
busted out a window to his residence with a golf club.
01-29-12---Answered a call to
Buckhead road in reference to a Child Custody Dispute.
Complainant stated her ex-husband did not return her children on
the time that was designated.
01-29-12---After an ongoing
investigation on a Child Molestation that occurred on Dewitt
Graham road, Andy Ring, Jr. was arrested and charged with Felony
Child Molestation. Ring is currently in the Wayne County Jail.
01-29-12---Officers were advised
to do a Welfare check on children located on Oscar Tippins
road. Officers found parent with one child and house in very
good condition.
01-30-12---Answered a call to
Hwy. #144 in reference to an Injured Person.
Complainant stated subject
blacked out and fell from a chair. Appling EMS responded and
transported victim to Appling Emergency for treatment.
Investigation determined injury to victim was accidental.
01-30-12---Answered a call to
Falling Rocks Campground in reference to Damage to Property.
Juveniles were found tearing up two picnic tables to make
skateboard ramps. Juveniles were found and Juvenile Complaint
forms were completed. Juveniles are to appear in Juvenile Court
for charges.
01-30-12---Answered a call to
Truck & Trailer Service in reference to Theft in Progress.
Complainant found a subject loading items from his storage
building. Clinton Carl Crapps age 39, of Baxley was arrested and
charged with Theft by Taking and Criminal Trespass.
01-31-12---Complainant came to
Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft/Forgery. Complainant stated
a subject had taken jewelry and checks, forged his name and
cashed the checks. Thomas Alvin Leggett age 24, of Baxley, was
arrested and charged with Burglary, Four counts of Forgery First
Degree and Giving False Statements.
01-31-12---Answered a call to
Clemons Lane/Graham in reference to a Peeping Tom. Complainant
stated a subject was found looking in her window by her nine
year old daughter. After an investigation, James Milton Bates
age 30 of Baxley was arrested and charged with Peeping Tom.
Bates is on the Sex Offender Registry and being held without
bond.
01-31-12---Answered a call to
Gardner road in reference to a Domestic.
Complainant stated her boyfriend
got mad with her and hit her in the face.Octavio Ruiz Velaquez
age 28 of Baxley was arrested and charged with Simple Battery.
01-31-12---Answered a call to
Pretty Ford Road in reference to a Car Fire.
Driver stated his vehicle caught
on fire, and County Farm Fire Department responded and put the
fire out. Vehicle was completely destroyed.
01-31-12---Answered a call to
Hatch Parkway South in reference to a Theft.
Complainant stated unknown person
(s) had taken an air condition unit tools and several items from
her shop building. Investigation continues.
02-01-12---Answered a call to
Miles Chapel Church road in reference to a Theft.
Complainant stated unknown person
(s) took her 2.5 ton air condition and approximately 75 feet of
ground wire. Investigation Continues.

Quincey Lane in reference to Damage to Property.
Complainant stated the tenant of
one of his rental houses had damaged the house.

Cauley road in reference to a Dispute.
Complainant stated a man driving
a County Motor Grader had hit him with the machine because of an
argument about the dirt road. Investigation Continues.

Complainant stated she had seen
her neighbor looking in her window with binoculars. Officer
talked with neighbor and stated he was looking at the pond and
woods.

Complainant and her husband had a
dispute over their children. Husband had left the residence
before officer arrived.
02-02-12---Answered a call to
Tillman Lane in reference to a Missing Dog.
Complainant stated his dog has
been missing for approximately a month. Complainant stated he
thought he had found his dog in someone else’s possession.
Officer and complainant went to
residence and found he was mistaken.

Complainant stated her ex-husband
tried to gain entry to her residence by forcing the door open.
02-04-12---Answered a call to
Zoar road in reference to an Unresponsive Subject.
Upon arrival subject was
unresponsive. Appling EMS transported Rachel Fowler age 40 to
Appling ER where she was pronounced DOA. Coroner was notified.
After an investigation of a child
molestation, Winston Johnson age 68 was arrested and charged
with two counts of Child Molestation. Johnson is being held
without bond.

Carter Cemetery road. Complainant stated he had several
Play station games that were taken from his house.
Complainant stated he believed they were at a local pawn
shop. Investigation revealed Bucky Shaun Bruce age 34 of
Baxley, had taken the games. Bruce was arrested and charged
with Theft by Taking.
01-21-12---Answered a call to
Hwy. 341 in reference to Damage to Property.
Complainant stated someone
cut two master locks off of their gate and replaced it with
a lock of their own.
01-21-12---Answered a call to
Pineview Avenue in reference to a Theft.
Complainant stated unknown
subject (s) entered her autos and took several items
including a pocketbook. Value of items taken was
approximately $1,800.00. Investigation continues.

County Dump truck body was caught in
power lines. The power from lines blew back tires off of
the truck and tore down the power pole and lines. Satilla
REMC was notified.

Complainant and subject had
an altercation. Ricky Ned Sikes age 54 of Baxley was
arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct.
01-23-12---During the
execution of a warrant, Jonathan Andrew Turner age 22 of
Baxley was found to be in possession of marijuana. Turner
was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana,
Forgery in the First Degree, Burglary, and Giving False
Information.
01-24-12---Answered a call to
Pearce Road/Surrency in reference to Threats.
Complainant stated her fiancé
just got out of prison and was making threats towards her
and her children.
01-24-12---Answered a call to
Hesters road in reference to Damage to Property.
Complainant stated his
neighbor threw a brick through the window of his residence,
because he thought he had killed his dog.

to Sheriff’s Office to report Harassment.
Complainant stated her ex
continues to send harassing text messages. Complainant was
advised to save the messages and take report to Magistrate
Judge if action wanted to be taken.

made hand gestures toward him simulating firing a gun to the
head. Complainant stated subject may possibly mentally
challenged.

subject gained entry to residence by taking a window air
condition unit out of window and stole three guns valued at
approximately $1,300.00. Investigation continues.

Glory Hole road in reference to Suspicious Activity.
A log truck was found to be
stolen from the City of Baxley. Investigation led to the
arrest of Kesha Lynn Meeks age 34, of Baxley, Michael Calvin
Meeks age 54, of Baxley, Ronnie Smith age 57 of Hazlehurst,
and Ricky Stewart Love age 40 of Hazlehurst. All four
subjects have been charged with Theft by Taking.

to Lawana Drive in reference to a Theft of Dog.
Complainant stated her Beagle
dog went missing.
01-26-12---Answered a call to
Red Oak road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No
injuries reported.
01-26-12---Answered a call to
Wayne Jones road in reference to Harassment.
Complainant stated a subject
has stopped in the neighborhood where his children are
playing and making faces at them. Subject was warned to
stay away from the children.
01-24-12---Complainant came
to the Sheriff’s Office to report Financial Identity Fraud.
Complainant stated a credit card company had contacted him
in reference to a credit card he had applied for and used.
Complainant stated he had not applied for a credit card nor
used one. Investigation continues.
01-25-12---Answered a call to
Deen’s Landing road in reference to Damage to Property.
Tables and barbeque grill at Falling Rock Campground was
found to be vandalized.
01-27-12---Complainant came
to Sheriff’s Office to report a Financial Dispute.
Complainant stated she loaded
1386 bales of straw on subject truck and had an agreement
subject was to pay her in two weeks and had not.
Complainant was advised to see the Magistrate Judge in
reference to a Civil Dispute.

permission. Boards were worth about $100.00. Investigation
continues.
1-13-12---Answered a call on
Tupelo Circle in reference to Harassment. Complainant stated
that several neighborhood children had been walking by her
residence and calling her dog out to the road. The dog follows
the children off. Complainant stated that she just wanted the
children to leave the dog alone.

Griffin Road in reference to Threats. Complainant stated that
her ex-husband’s wife had been sending threatening text messages
to her.

Enterprises in reference to a Theft. Taken was some electrical
wire.

Hwy. #341 in reference to a two vehicle accident. No injuries
were reported.

Sandy Road in reference to Damage to Property. Complainant
stated that someone had been tearing up his gates and busted out
the glass on a shed that he owned.

Hutcheson Road in reference to Child Molestation. Complainant
stated that a three year old child had been molested by a
juvenile. Investigation continues.
1-14-12---Answered a call to
McClure Lane in reference to a Missing Person. Complainant
stated that she had not seen her uncle since February of 2005.
Case will be turned over to the Investigators.
1-15-12---Answered a call at
Appling ER in reference to an assault that had already occurred.
Victim stated that an argument escalated between he and the
offender and the offender threw a kitchen knife at his foot,
striking it and causing it to bleed. Victim was transported to
the ER by a witness. Victim stated it was an accident.
1-15-12---Answered a call to Old
Surrency Road in reference to a Dog Bite. Complainant stated
that he was walking down the road and saw a bulldog and tried to
feed it. The dog snapped at the complainant and bit his hand.
The dog ran off into the woods.
1-15-12---Answered a call on
Henry Thomas Road in reference to a Theft. Taken was a 2004
Dodge Ram Pick up truck. Investigation led to the finding of the
vehicle in the ditch.
1-16-12---Answered a call to Hill
Top Road in reference to Harassment. Complainant stated that the
offender continues to call his wife. Complainant wishes for the
offender to not have any contact with their family.
1-16-12---Routine traffic stop on
US 1 North/Harvey Street resulted in the arrest of Christopher
Steven Eason, age 27 of Baxley. Eason was arrested and charged
with VGCSA-Crack Cocaine, Drugs to be Kept in Original
Container, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and No Brake
Lights.
1-17-12---Investigated a
one-vehicle deer accident on Hwy 144. No injuries were reported.
01-17-12---Answered a call to
Kennedy road in reference to an Arson.
Complainant stated someone tried
to set his building on fire. Complainant stated he put the fire
out with the water hose.

Complainant stated his ex-wife’s
family has been harassing him.

unknown person (s) pried open the door to his residence and took

Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft of Checks on Gardenia
Circle. Complainant stated a family member had taken two
checks, forged his signature and cashed them at a local store.
Warrants have been secured for the arrest of Jonathan Turner.
01-19-12---Complainant a
councilman of City of Graham stated subjects came to his
residence making threats towards him if he brought up an agenda
at the Graham City Hall meeting.
01-19-12---Answered a call to
Alpine Drive in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated his
friend took his pistol and would not return it.
01-19-12---A routine traffic stop
on Satilla Church road resulted in the arrest of Julius Earl
Butler age 26 of Baxley. Butler was charged with Possession of
Marijuana.

20, of Baxley and Steven Michael Penn age 28, of Baxley were
both arrested and charged with Theft.

Complainant stated she found
her had been ransacked. Furniture turned upside down, broken
dishes, permanent marker written on counter top, shot gun
lying across her son’s bed, and several pictures that had
been shot with a shotgun. Complainant was advised to get a
TPO to keep her soon to be ex-husband away from her and her
children. TPO was obtained and served.

he was working for a finance company, and owed a substantial
amount of money and made threats. Complainant stated she

Complaint. Grandmother has custody of fourteen year old
grandchild who is visiting from a facility. Grandchild
ran away taking cell phone. Juvenile complaint form was
filed and BOLO was issued for child. Juvenile was found
and returned to facility.

Rodney Mobley age 46, was
arrested and charged with Pedestrian Under the Influence

call to Lake Ridge Drive in reference to a Theft.
Complainant stated
several tools valued at approximately $1,300.00 was
taken from his residence. Investigation continues.
11-27-11---Complainant
came to Sheriff’s Office to report Debit Card Theft.
Complainant stated her
debit card was stolen and several large debits had been
taken from her account. Investigation revealed Justin
Michael Yawn age 32, of Hazlehurst had used the card.
Warrants were secured for Yawn for Financial Transaction
Card Theft.
11-28-11---Complainant
came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft/Forgery.
Complainant stated a
subject stole a check from her checkbook, and wrote it
at Walmart. Complainant later came to Sheriff’s Office
and stated she wanted to drop the charges, that the
offender had paid her back the money she had taken.

call to Nails Ferry Road in reference to an Assault.
Complainant stated that
he and a family member had a verbal dispute which led to
an altercation.. Stanford Jose King age 36 of Baxley was
arrested and charged with Battery.

accident. No injuries were reported.
11-29-11---Answered a
call to Bethel Church road in reference to Unresponsive
Subject. Family member found Timothy Scott Howell age
39, of Baxley was not breathing. Appling EMS responded
and called the Coroner. Coroner ruled the death was
caused by natural causes.

came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft. Complainant
stated a check had been stolen from her rental mail box
and cashed. Investigation continues.

call to Graham Zoar road in reference to a Theft.
Complainant stated he
found scrap metal loaded in a truck and told subject the
metal belonged to him. Subject was taken to the Appling
County Detention Center for further investigation.

Complainant stated her
boyfriend came to her residence and threatened her, and
let the air from her tires. Boyfriend was advised to
stay off of complainants property.

came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft by Deception.
Complainant stated he
took his jeep to a subject to have a new transmission
and new carburetor put in the vehicle. Complainant found
that an old transmission and old carburetor was put in.
Complainant paid around $3,400.00 for the repairs.
David Richard Yawn age 47, of Baxley was arrested and
charged with two counts of Theft by Deception.

Complainant stated a
family member came to his residence being unruly and was
asked to leave. Family member returned, and was
arrested. Chase Van Sharpe age 20 of Baxley was charged
with Disorderly Conduct, DUI and Driving without

Complainant stated
boyfriend was beating his girlfriend. Steven Dane
Fletcher age 40 of Baxley was arrested and charged with
Terroristic Threats and Acts, Battery, and Cruelty to

City of Graham. Lonnie Ryan Crosby age 33 of Hazlehurst,
Georgia was arrested and charged with four counts of
Financial Transaction Card Fraud.
11-18-11---Complainant came
to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft that occurred on
George Craven road. Complainant stated missing from her
residence are several items of jewelry valued at
approximately $500.00. Complainant stated possible suspect
may be a family member.
11-18-11---Answered a call to
Collins Lane in reference to an Assault.
Complainant stated a family
member hit him in the head with a ring on her hand. Offender
had left the residence before officer arrived.
11-19-11---Answered a call to
Lennox Road in reference to a Burglary.
Complainant caught subjects
in the act of taking items from his storage shed. Subjects
eluded complainant and ran through the woods. Investigation
continues.
11-20-11---Answered a call to
Parkers in Surrency in reference to a Gas Drive-Off.
Complainant identified subject that got $5.00 worth of gas
and drove off. Subject was contacted and came back and paid
for the gas. Complainant did not press charges.

stated someone put chicken in his mailbox and spray painted
profane words on the outside of the box. Investigation

grates off water drains. Five were found to be missing
and valued at $500.00 each. Investigation revealed
metal had been taken to scrap metal yard in Wayne
County. Terry Lynn Davis age 31 of Odum was arrested
and charged with Theft and also Henry Ingram age 38 of
Odum was arrested and charged with Theft and Probation
Violation.

several convincing story’s that he was in need of money.
Subject received money from several church members from
several churches. Same incident occurred on November 6,
2011. Deputies were able to apprehend Wilbur Buckley
age 48, of Nahunta, Georgia. Buckley was charged with
Theft by Deception. Without information being passed on
in a timely manner Buckley would have been able to
continue his scam.

being offered for information leading to the arrest and
conviction of person (s) responsible for shooting the
REA Transformer located on Zoar road. Answered a call
to Zoar road near Zoar Baptist Church in reference to
Damage to Property. Responding officers found that an
REA transformer had been shot several times causing the
power to go out in the community. REA workers stated
the cost of the transformer is approximately
$12,000.00. Investigation Continues.

Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Ga. by Lifestar. A 22 caliber
rifle was found lying on the floor next to Fletcher.

Accident. Joe Bereta age 68 of Baxley was found deceased, as a
result of a four wheeler over turning on him. Preliminary ruling
by Appling County Assistant Coroner Watson ruled as an
accidental death.
09-09-11---Complainant came to
Sheriff’s Office to report a Fraud/Swindle. Complainant stated
she had been notified that she had won a large amount of money
and a 2011 Mercedes Benz. In turn complainant had to mail money
to Sweepstake to receive her winnings. Complainant complied but
has not received any monies or the vehicle.

make an arrest of a male subject on a warrant residing on
Buckhead road led to the arrest of Brandy Jane Copeland age 21,
of Baxley. Copeland was arrested for obstruction. Male subject
was transported to Jeff Davis County.

several calls to this same incident owner of horse was given a
citation.

Complainant stated a person was
trying to steal his backhoe, and when he approached him he
jumped off and ran in the woods. Responding officers
apprehended Ronnie Bryant age 36, of Baxley. Bryant was
arrested and charged with two counts of Theft. Also several
batteries were recovered in connection with the incident.

Fire. Complainant stated back tire of his vehicle came off and
when pulling over to the side of roadway the grass caught fire,
burning the vehicle. Fire department responded and was able to

8-12-2011---Answered a call on 341 East at the railroad in reference
to a Theft. Taken were some spikes, anchors, and plates, that
belonged to Norfolk Southern Railroad. Suspects were interviewed and
case was turned over to Special Agent Norfolk Southern Railroad
Police. Christopher Shon Allen age 35 of Baxley was arrested and
charged with Criminal Trespass and Theft by Taking. Phil Allen, Jr.
age 36 of Baxley was arrested and charged with Theft by Taking,
Criminal Trespass and Probation Violation.
08-12-2011---Answered a call on Golden Isles West in reference to an
Unsupervised Child. DFACS worker stated that a six year old boy ran
across the highway without even looking. The child was almost hit by
a vehicle. Case is still under investigation by DFAC’s.
08-12-2011---Answered a call on Brenda Kaye Yawn Road in reference
to a Dog Case. Complainant stated that his Jack Russell went
missing. Dog was later found at another residence.

around a grave site were destroyed and removed from the grave.

mailbox with a large rock.

Unruly Juvenile. Upon officer arrival, complainant stated that his
14 year old daughter did not want to go to school and refused to get
on the school bus. DJJ worker was contacted to handle the situation.

Person.
Husband stated his wife has been missing since the 16th
of August and has a history of drug abuse. Wife was located at
another residence.
08-17-2011---Answered a call on Zoar Road in reference to a
Burglary. Complainant stated that some medication had been taken as
well as $611.00 in cash. Investigation continues.
08-17-2011---Answered a call on Golden Isles East in reference to a
Burglary. Complainant stated that nothing was found to be missing.
08-17-2011---Answered a call on Quincey Lane in reference to a
Domestic. Complainants stated that the offender came to the
residence arguing and yelling. Marks were found on the victim.
Arrested in connection with this incident was Travis Earl Taylor age
39 of Baxley. Warrants were secured on Taylor for Aggravated
Assault.

to Property.
Complainant stated ten year old juvenile threw a rock and busted
rear window of her parked vehicle.
08-17-11---Answered a call to County Farm Extension in reference to
a Missing Person. Complainant stated subject had been missing not
heard from for several days. Investigation revealed subject was in
Pierce County and appeared to be ok.
08-17-11---Complainant from Wayne County, notified our Sheriff’s
Office of Threatening Phone calls from subject in Baxley. Wayne
County Sheriff’s office sent warrants on subject to Appling County.
John Thigpen age 42 of Baxley, was arrested and transported to
Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
08-17-11---During a routine check for a 10-13 subject at the
residence on Ten Mile road, resulted in the arrest of Mauricio
Guzman age 37, of Baxley, and Francisco Guzman age 43, of Baxley.
Both subjects were charged with Possession of Marijuana and
Possession of Drug Related Objects.
08-17-11---Complainant came to Sheriff’s Office to report a Theft.
Complainant stated her grandson took a $100.00 bill from her
pocketbook.

Complainant stated window to her business had been removed, and

gave subject $5,000.00 to begin the work. Complainant discovered
subject had sold his vehicle.

Livestock running at large. Upon officer arrival, deputies found
horses running lose in the roadway. Owner of the horses was notified
and the horses were detained until further notice.

of Jeffery McKinney age 23 of Baxley. McKinney was charged with
Driving on Suspended License. McKinney was also involved in another
incident where he stole several checks and cashed them. Further
investigation led to the McKinney being charged with Forgery and
Theft by Taking.

Harassment. Complainant stated that her children were assaulted by
children on the school bus.

Unresponsive Subject. Family members found Ms. Evelyn Collins age
86, of Baxley, unresponsive. Appling EMS responded and Coroner Nick
Grimes pronounced Ms. Collins deceased. Ms. Collins appeared to
have died of natural causes.

previous day.
Dispatch was notified later in the day that the juvenile had
returned home. Responding officer went back to the residence and
verified that the juvenile was in good condition and no evidence of

father of the child was supposed to meet with the complainant and
exchange the child however didn’t show up.

resulted in the arrest of Pattie Lynn Taylor age 38 of Baxley.
Taylor was charged with Pills not in Original Container, No License,
and No Seatbelt.

the arrest of Reginald Wendall Grace age 52 of Jesup. Grace was

Sheriff’s Weekly Report
06-22-2011---Over the last few weeks several burglaries have
occurred throughout the county. The county responded to a residence
on Sandhill Road and East River Road as well at the Nature
Conservancy. A selection of chainsaws, guns, boat motor, and a leaf
blower were taken. Further Investigation revealed that Christopher
Owen Byrne age 28 of Baxley and Christopher Michael Moore age 29 of
Baxley was involved. Byrne was arrested and charged with Theft by
Taking and Burglary. Moore was arrested and charged with Theft by
Taking. They are currently being held in the county jail.

related objects and possession of marijuana.

06-22-2011---Over the last few weeks several burglaries have
occurred throughout the county. The county responded to a residence
on Sandhill Road and East River Road as well at the Nature
Conservancy. A selection of chainsaws, guns, boat motor, and a leaf
blower were taken. Further Investigation revealed that Christopher
Owen Byrne age 28 of Baxley and Christopher Michael Moore age 29 of
Baxley was involved. Byrne was arrested and charged with Theft by
Taking and Burglary. Moore was arrested and charged with Theft by
Taking. They are currently being held in the county jail.
