Martin Reynolds
Marion Martin Reynolds, age 90 of Baxley died Sunday
Feb. 17, 2008 at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Reynolds was born December 6, 1917 in Jeff Davis
County to the late Orlando Chester "Sam" Reynolds and the late Nancy
Gertrude Rentz Reynolds. He was a member of Spring Branch
Baptist Church and was a Veteran of World War II. Mr. Reynolds was
retired from the State Highway Department and was preceded in death
by 3 sister, Nina Clance, Mary Sammy Connor , Oveda Johnson and a
great grandchild, Ryanna Carter.
Mr. Reynolds is survived by his wife: Mary Lou
Carter Reynolds of Baxley; 2 daughters & sons -in-law, Sheila & Joe
Hopwood of Baxley & Shirley & Charles
Chapman of Vidalia; 2 Sons & Daughter in law, David
& Barbara Reynolds & Joe Earl Reynolds all of Baxley; 2 Sisters,
Ophilia Reynolds of Baxley & Edna Earl Hardee of Columbus. 9
grandchildren, & 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 6:00 until
8:00 p.m. at Swain Funeral Home
Memorials: Remembrances may be made to Region 8
Disaster Relief 17 N. College Ave. Statesboro, Ga.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20,
2008 at 2;00 p.m. from the Spring Branch Baptist Church.

Couch Maddox
Bobby Couch Maddox age 82 of Baxley died Tuesday,
Feb. 12, 2008 in the Appling Healthcare System
Mr. Maddox was born May 19, 1925 in Pickens County
to the late Bob Maddox & the late Edith Fairellen Couch Maddox. He
was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and was retired
from Southern Company. Mr. Maddox was a Veteran of the U.S.
Army having served in W.W. II. He was preceded in death by a son,
Darrell "Dusty" Hallman.
Survivors Include: His Wife Twila Maddox of Baxley;
4 daughters, Barbara Ciulls of Newnan, Brenda Saussy of Savannah,
Jeannie Whitfield of Hazlehurst & Betty Crubbs of Vail, Co.; 3
Sons, David " Rusty" Hallman of Atlanta, Billy Hallman of Baxley of
Baxley & Roger Maddox of Redwood City, CA; 1 Sister Lucille Nalley
of Loris, S.C.
Funeral Services were held Friday, Feb. 15 2008 at
3:00 p.m. from the Swain Funeral Home. Rev. Creig Smith & Rev.
Lamar Lee officiated. Interment followed in the Ten Mile Creek
Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers: Bobby Jon Head, Brandon Head,
Chip Collins, Drew Coggin, Wilton McCall, Daniel Cowan, & Rex

David E. Miles Funeral Home
announces the death of Terrell F. Reese, age 79, who passed away
Wednesday in the Appling Health Care after a short illness. He was
born in Toombs County and lived most of his life in Appling County,
He was a retired farmer and was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist
Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his
wife Jackie Reese and was the son of the late Claude L. Reese and
the late Luvency Dukes Reese.
He is survived by a son and
daughter-in-law, Terry and Eva Reese of Baxley and a daughter, Pam
Stone of Alma: Sister, Margaret Bullard of Baxley: Brothers, Cecil
L. Reese of Wilmington, NC. And James Earl Reese of Jacksonville,
FL: three grandchildren Brent Stone and Stephen Stone of Baxley and
Mandy Reese of Baxley: three great-grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9
Friday at David E. Miles Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at
2:00 P.M. Saturday, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell
Quinn and Rev. Ronnie Rentz officiating. Interment will follow in
the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Robbie
Bullard, Billy Reese, Jeffery Reese, Rodney Reese, and Ray Reese,.
Honorary pallbearers are the Joy
Sunday School Class of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, James and Melba
Rentz, Jeffery and Susan Turner and all friends in attendance.
The body will be placed in the
church one hour prior the funeral service to lie in state.
The family will assemble at the
residence of Terry and Eva Reese on Herbert Rentz Road.

Ranville Johnson Fossett, Jr.
Ranville Johnson Fossett, Jr. age 80 of Alma died
Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 in Bacon County Hospital.
Mr. Fossett was born August 23, 1927 in Appling
County to the late Ranville Johnson Fossett, Sr. and the late Nellie
Mae Morris Fossett. He was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Baxley and was retired from General Motors Plant.
Mr. Fossett was a Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S.
Navy.
Mr. Fossett is survived by his wife, Rosa J. Fossett
of Alma; Daughter & Son in Law, Susan & Jack Waller of Alma;
Mother in Law, Gertrude Kesler of Alma; A niece, Julia Nell
Shaw of Perry and a Nephew, Jay Mobley of Baxley. 4 step
grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 11, 2008 6:00 p.m.
until 8:00 p.m. at Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, at
2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home.
Rev. Jay Meadows will officiate and Interment will
be at Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Townsend
Sara L. Townsend, age 74 of Baxley died Wednesday,
February 6, 2008 at her residence. Survivors:
Daughter, Beth T. Boone of Baxley; Son, Mike Townsend of Baxley;
Brother Eugene Lott of Baxley; 1 Grandson, Donald Boone. A host of
Nieces and nephews. Mrs. Townsend was born November
28, 1933 in Appling County to the late Honor Eugene Lott & the late
Ruth Mariah Sapp Lott. She was a member of Midway Baptist
Church and a retired Teacher for 30 years and a Board of
Education member 4 years. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Cliff Townsend. Funeral Services will be
held Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. from the Midway Baptist
