Sheriff’s Weekly Report

 

05-03-08---Answered a call to Blackshear Hwy. in reference to a four-wheeler accident.  Seventy-one year old female victim was taken to Emergency Room.

 

05-04-08---Answered a call to Patterson Road in reference to a Burglary.  Forced entry was made to house and two TV’s were reported stolen. Investigation Continues.

 

05-04-08---Answered a call to Old Surrency Road in reference to a Burglary.

 

Forced entry was made to a Hot Dog stand.  Taken was an old 22 rifle.  Investigation continues.

 

05-05-08---Complainant came to Sheriff’s office and reported a Theft by Deception. Victim sold pine straw to an individual that never paid.  Investigation continues.

 

05-05-08---During a routine traffic stop James Williams age 19, was found to be in possession of Marijuana. Williams was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, No Insurance, No Registration, and No Brake Lights.

 

05-05-08---Answered a call to Nails Ferry Road in reference to a Domestic Disturbance between an ex-husband and ex-wife concerning custody of child.  Both parties have joint custody.

 

05-05-08---Answered a call to Hwy. #144 to a Prowler.  No visible signs or prints were found.

 

05-06-08---Answered a call to Holmesville Ave in reference to Theft.  Complainant stated a family member had stolen some checks and deed to home.

Complainant stated he would not press charges if they were returned.

 

05-06-08---Complainant came to Sheriff’s office to report Threats.  Complainant stated threats were being made by an ex-boy friend to her and her children. Complainant was advised to see the Magistrate Judge.

 

05-06-08---Answered a call to Milton Sellers Road in reference to a Domestic Dispute. Dispute was between a daughter’s boyfriend and parents.   They were advised to see the Magistrate Judge.

 

05-07-08---Answered a call to Altamaha Tech College in reference to a Theft.

Complainant stated money was stolen from can for Relay for Life. Investigation continues.

 

05-07-08---Answered a call to Gardner Road in reference to a Domestic call.  Dispute was between a husband and wife. 

 

05-08-08---Answered a call to Iris Lane in reference to an Assault.  Altercation was between acquaintances. Offender left the scene before reporting officer arrived. 

 

05-09-08---Answered a call to Old Surrency Road in reference to Theft by Taking.  Complainant stated a wallet was stolen with $303.00 inside.  A warrant was taken for Brandon Williams

 

05-09-08---Answered a call to Cauley Road in reference to Domestic Dispute. The dispute was between an ex-husband and ex-wife concerning custody of their child.

 

05-09-08---Answered a call to Thornton Road in reference to a Burglary.  Unknown person(s) entered home and stole $500.00.  Investigation Continues.

 

05-10-08---Answered a call to Surrsson Street in reference to Damage to Property.  Complainant stated sugar was poured into gas tank of car. 

 

05-10-08---Answered a call to Acorn Lane in reference to a Prowler.  Complainant stated heard knocks on the door, when answered subject ran away.  No prowler was found.

 

05-10-08---Answered a call to Cauley Lane in reference to a Domestic Dispute.  Altercation was between husband and wife.  Both parties agreed to work out their differences.

 

05-10-08—Answered a call to Satilla Church Road in reference to a Domestic Dispute.  The altercation was between ex-husband and ex-wife.  Tommy Herrington age 32 was arrested and charged with simple battery. Mr. Herrington has since been released on bond.

 

  “Beware” there have been a number of fraudulent check scams being mailed. Checks look to be valid, but when deposited to your account to be processed they will be charged back to your account if fraudulent. Be careful not to be scammed by these individuals.
