This past December, Appling County Elementary School students and staff participated in “The Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive” sponsored by Scholastic Book Clubs. This program provides a pair of new pajamas for children who are in need and may not have any. Classrooms competed to bring in the most pairs of pajamas. The winning class in each grade level received ice cream provided by Mrs. Anu Reddy, a parent volunteer. ACES students and staff collected a total of 179 pairs of pajamas and 44 new children’s books! These were taken to the Appling County Department of Family and Children Services where they were distributed to the children of Appling County. Mrs. Jane Tomberlin’s class was the winning classroom in 3^rd grade. Mrs. Margaret Wilcox’s class was the winning classroom in 4^th grade, and Mrs. LeeAnne Ewaldsen’s class was the winning classroom in 5^th grade. Congratulations to these classes! A special thank you to everyone who donated a new pair of pajamas or a new children’s book!
